Remembering Patrick Swayze: Yesterday, Patrick Swayze lost his courageous 20-month battle with pancreatic cancer. The 57-year-old actor left behind a 30-year-legacy of work, from breakout roles in Dirty Dancing and Ghost to memorable turns in Red Dawn, The Outsiders, Point Break, Road House, and Donnie Darko. Wendy Leigh's biography, Patrick Swayze: One Last Dance, came out this spring, and Swayze's memoir, The Time of My Life, written with his wife, Lisa Niemi, will be available later this month. The LA Timesremembers Swayze, calling the actor "the image of dignity, decency, and defiance."
Serving Up a Bestseller: This month Karen Page and Andrew Dornenburg marked a very special anniversary for their fastest-selling tome, The Flavor Bible: one year holding court on Amazon's Cooking, Food & Wine bestsellers list.
Moving & Shaking: Dan Brown's Angels & Demons enjoys a Lost Symbol-related bump, landing on our Movers & Shakers.
