Korda's repetitively phrased review was shockingly poor. It barely rated above a YouTube comment in its literacy. Did his edition of The Kindly Ones have the incest, excrement and gay porn largely bowdlerized out? It's revealing that he scarcely mentioned any of that in his breathless encomium to this "literary masterpiece", though perhaps there was a Freudian slip when he made this bullying declaration:

"You want to read about Hell, here it is. If you don't have the strength to read it, tough shit."
