It’s an exciting
day here at Shelfari. The rain has stopped, the birds are chirping and the
biggest news of all – we are being acquired by Amazon.com.
As many of you may
already know, Amazon has been a long supporter of Shelfari. They’ve worked
closely with us as we introduced readers, like you, to our global community of
book lovers. They’ve been there each step of the way as we brought forth new
features, like the cool Facebook application and our virtual bookshelf. And now
Shelfari and Amazon will work hand in hand to continue to grow our dynamic
community and create innovative new tools around the books you love.
We’ve got some big
plans ahead. With more resources and Amazon’s expertise in building a platform
where people come to share ideas, there are a lot of new opportunities in the
future that will benefit each of you. In the meantime, you’ll continue to have
access to the great community and tools that you’ve always known and used on
the site.
Amazon and Shelfari
are committed to enhancing our members’ experiences so we want to hear from you
on what we can do better. What changes or suggestions do you have? Tell us how you’d
like to see Shelfari and Amazon work together to make your site experience the
best it can be. We invite you to send us your questions, comments and
suggestions to questions@shelfari.com.
We look forward to
working with Amazon to continue with our mission of building great communities
that celebrate books. As I said earlier, this is a very exciting day for the
entire Shelfari team and community, and we are thrilled to join the Amazon
family. Thanks for your continued support and stay tuned for great things to come
on the site.
Best,
Josh
Congratulations Josh :)

Congratulations Josh, Kevin, Dave and the Shelfari team! You accomplished a lot on limited resources over the past two years, and you should feel proud of yourselves. It will be exciting to see you bring your innovation and the Shelfari service offering to the Amazon customer base!

I'd never heard of Shelfari before, but after signing up and using it, I must say that it's a great service and I can see why Amazon.com would be interested in acquiring it. Good luck!

Hi guys,
Love the site and congrats on the sale.
Would be great if you can get integration with the social aggregator service FriendFeed. Longer term, I see more of my friends clicking through to your site that way rather than me inviting them to join yet another social network.
I'm assuming that amazon will be getting your wishlist intergrated with the existing Amazon wishlist? If not, would love for that to happen as well.
Well done !
Ross.

Great! Another small independent website eaten up by the giant Amazon! Don't Amazon have enough of a hold over the books world already?

Hi, have just found Shelfari and love it. Do you know if and when we'll be able to use its features with amazon.co.uk? Will this be affected by the amazon aquisition? (Congrats, BTW.)
